Arcot Makes Huge Footprint

As Arcot experienced significant growth and innovation through 2007, its industry footprint has grown in kind. As a result, Arcot has made great strides in a wide number of industry events. Most notably of these are the following:

CardSpace Demo at RSA – February
Arcot and Microsoft, together with Wachovia Corporation and Corillian Corporation, demonstrated an industry-first Windows CardSpace proof-of-concept (POC) at both the Microsoft and Arcot booths at the RSA Conference. The POC demonstrated how an online banking system could use Windows CardSpace to improve the customer experience while enhancing security.

The user must enter a PIN or passphrase to authenticate to the “Identity Provider” to indicate that it is safe to pass customer information to the banking application. The ArcotID, through two factor authentication to verify user identity, protects the user’s information from fraudsters trying to steal personal information and helps protect against unauthorized access to the user’s account by family members, friends or coworkers who might otherwise have access to the PC.

Arcot User & Technology Conference – April
The Arcot User Conference announced Arcot as the market leader in Internet security in a major way. Ram Varadarajan, President and CEO of Arcot, explored the purpose of Arcot’s creation as a solution to the identity problem without expensive and cumbersome hardware solutions. Furthermore, Mr. Varadarajan highlighted Arcot’s key strategic relationships with partners such as IBM, Microsoft, and Adobe.

Additional keynote speakers at the User Conference include representatives of: Gartner, New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, JPMorgan Chase, Adobe, Microsoft, Visa, Mastercard, Wells Fargo, Pfizer, Oracle, IBM, and more.

Taking Fraud out of eBanking – June
With more than 9.9 million Americans victim of identity theft and fraud last year alone (at a cost of roughly $5 billion), these crimes are the nation’s fastest growing criminal operation.  This Executive Forum provided in-depth information about new ways to prevent identify fraud, strategies for using eStatements and digital signing, how to meet FFIEC regulations, and multi-factor authentication strategies.

The event featured former famous hacker Kevin Mitnick. Topics such as deception and social engineering were discussed by Mitnick, while Arcot CEO Ram Varadarajan and CTO Jim Reno presented details on converging technology and online threats. Furthermore, the event gave an in-depth look at emerging customer-centric authentication that addresses online fraud.

Taking Fraud out of Online Banking Webinar – October
As online threats targeting financial institutions and their customers increase, the financial industry is in need of solutions that eliminate fraud without making everyday usage for customers a hassle. R. 'Doc' Vaidhyanathan, Vice President, Product Management with Arcot Systems, presented unique solutions to take the fraud out of online banking.

With banks under pressure to comply with FFIEC guidelines, Arcot offers a solution to Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks that satisfies FFIEC guidelines without hindering the user experience.

Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit – November 2007
Arcot attended and exhibited at the second annual Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit. Interest in Identity Management has been growing due to increased Internet fraud and identity theft. When Gartner held the first conference last year, it was clear that this topic was important to organizations world wide. This year the conference nearly doubled in size.

We met many people who were looking for strong authentication and digital signing solutions that were easy to deploy and cost effective. And, we were able to show them how the Arcot Solutions fit that bill. Several analysts mentioned Arcot's products in their presentations!

Stay tuned for a look at key industry events for 2008. Expect to see Arcot’s footprint continue to increase.
