As part of this year's CA World conference, Arcot CTO Jim Reno will present "Web-Based User Authentication: Can it be Both Easy to Use and Strong?" at 4 p.m. on Nov. 19. Reno's presentation will explain the challenge of easy, effective authentication of users over the Web. He will explain how the growth of transactional Web sites and how the rising sophistication of phishing attacks and good old-fashioned social engineering are increasing the risk of identity theft. No longer is the traditional use of user IDs and passwords the best source of security for Web users.

Reno will discuss common forms of Web authentication, and he'll explain how risk-based and certificate-based authentication from Arcot dramatically improves the security of the authentication without changing user behavior.
