Keep It Green
Although much of the focus during a trade show is devoted to ensuring a large number of people can move smoothly through a small booth area, individual exhibitors can make choices that affect the overall environmental impact of a trade show.
As you think about your next trade show booth design, keep in mind a few ideas to take advantage of sustainable practices.
- Reuse — Many exhibit elements can either be reused or purchased already used.
- Reclaim — Find products that are locally sourced and reclaimed from another purpose.
- Recycle — Request materials that have been recycled, such as recycled aluminum used for the booth structure, cardboard displays and more.
Creating an eco-friendly trade show booth that’s easy to maneuver and ship is crucial when you’re moving from show to show, and now it’s also easier than ever.
When you’re looking for ways to green your exhibit, take a look at some of the latest options.
- Flooring products now come in a variety of sustainable options, including recycled carpeting (look for the Green Label Plus certification), rubber flooring (which can be made from recycled tires), and bamboo (which is a renewable resource). These options can be used to create a stylish look with lightweight materials that are cost-effective to ship and a snap to set up. Take a look at recycled carpet tiles like Brumark Interlocking Carpet Tiles.
- Graphic designs are now offered in green options as a sustainable and affordable solution. Xpressions SNAP! and Xpressions Xpress offer a graphic fabric produced from recycled soda bottles, and the fabric itself can be recycled after the display is no longer needed.
- Banner stands, literature racks, counters and shelving also come in environmentally responsible materials, including bamboo plywood, which is sustainable and renewable. See these Bamboo Literature Racks and Bamboo Banner Stands for easy, lightweight set up and durable display.
Of course another way to encourage an eco-friendly booth is by incorporating energy saving options, such as LED lighting, which reduces local energy use by up to 90 percent. Shipping is another important factor, and using recycled, lightweight materials ensure that the energy costs associated with shipping your booth materials are kept as low as possible.
