The RJPL automatically compares the incoming swimmer's finish time with the departure time of the next swimmer. CTS' RJPLs are the fairest and most accurate way to judge a relay race, and they're also an NCAA necessity. All Division I NCAA Championships must use electronic relay judging, and with accuracy to 1/100th of a second, CTS' RJPLs actually exceed NCAA standards — which is probably why only RJPLs from CTS have been used in the NCAA Division I men's and women's finals.
