EVE Launches New Product at DAC
ZEMI-3
ZEMI-3 lets hardware designers use a higher level of abstraction for transaction-level monitoring when debugging hardware designs, which reduces the time teams spend analyzing waveforms. ZEMI-3 marks a big improvement in the way transactors are written, including transactors for custom protocols. For your design teams, this means faster turnaround times and improved productivity.
Unlike other transactors, ZEMI-3 combines the efficiency of transactors with the accuracy of hardware emulation. The product preserves the cycle-accurate, low-level signal wiggling in emulation, keeping the high-level protocol management in the software. The bus-functional model (BFM) in a hardware transactor connects to the design, using the same implementation IP that goes into real silicon. Thus, a hardware transactor is more accurate than in-circuit because it runs at the same speed as the design – side by side in emulation.
ZEMI-3 transaction-level methodology moves your design teams away from in-circuit emulation and synthesizable test benches. Instead, it offers your designers a way to speedily validate software in SoC designs at megahertz instead of kilohertz rates. At the same time, the ZEMI-3 infrastructure accelerates your hardware-debugging process.
Developing BFMs with ZEMI-3 is easier than with other techniques because it can compile behavioral SystemVerilog code. We have seen a 10X improvement in engineer productivity by switching to ZEMI-3. ZEMI-3 automatically synchronizes clocks between emulated designs under test and the test bench only when needed. It also automatically streams data when possible, making sure the data moves to its destination before it's needed.
Key Benefits
- More easily writes BFM by using large behavioral set of constructs
- Operates at a higher performance level because of automatic streaming detection
- Simplifies changes, evolution and maintenance
- Improves productivity when writing transactors
ZEMI-3 is available now and priced at $80,000. For more information visit http://eve-team.com/products/zemi-3.php. |
