 U.S. Air Force partners with ProLink
It's off into the wild blue yonder for ProLink Solutions and the U.S. Air Force. Thanks to a $3.7 million contract, ProLink has installed its GPS systems at seven golf courses, located at Air Force bases throughout the Pacific region. Installations were completed during June and July.
Golf courses rate in the top 10 of the most appealing quality-of-life perks for military members, according to a recent study by the Navy's Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department. As a result, MWR and Marine Corps Community Services now operate about 200 courses, with at least one located in each state, and more than 40 international courses for the Department of Defense. Most are either financially self-sustaining or make enough money to subsidize additional recreational programs.
"We're optimistic that U.S. Military golf courses worldwide will see the value of the ProLink system for their servicemen, and our category installations will expand," said Lawrence D. Bain, CEO of ProLink Solutions.
ProLink GPS systems have been implemented at Andersen Air Force Base Guam, Elmendorf AFB Alaska, Hickam AFB Hawaii, Kadena Air Base Japan, Misawa AB Japan, Osan AB Korea and Yokokota AB Japan.
"Courses with ProLink GPS benefit from enhanced guest satisfaction," Bain continued, "as they have demonstrated the ability to speed play and increase the enjoyment of golfers. In addition, as we continue to expand our installed base, advertisers using ProLink are able to reach a greater number of affluent golfers."

ProLink continues the expansion of its international footprint by partnering with GPS Strategies of Alberta, Canada, to install 1,000 screens at three of Calgary's finest golf courses over the next 12 months.
One of the world's largest telecommunications companies will appear on nearly 30,000 screens across ProLink Solutions' U.S. national network of approximately 400 golf courses. As part of the ProLink Network Research Program, ads for the top-10 Fortune 500 company will be screened on one hole per course throughout the program's run.
A partnership between ProLink and Buenos Aires-based Total News Golf will bring ProLink's GPS system to golf courses and resorts in countries throughout South America, where golfing's popularity is increasing rapidly.
A television advertising opportunity, which will include Internet and print marketing, is set for launch in 2009. The show, which will feature great U.S. courses that use ProLink, comes out of an agreement with National Advertising Partners, a Fox-owned sales unit. |
