CEO Elected & Key Personnel AddedUS Spine has made some exciting additions to the team. During recent months, a CEO has been elected along with key personnel hired for Director of Operations and Controller positions. See below for a list of the new employees along with a short bio. Welcome to the US Spine team! Joe Mussey Appointed CEO of US SpineThe Board of Directors of US Spine has elected Joseph Mussey Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective October 1, 2006. Mr. Mussey has been a member of US Spine's Board of Directors since January, and was elected Chairman in June 2006. "We are pleased to be expanding Joe's role in the company", commented Doris Blake, Founder & President of US Spine. "The depth and breadth of Joe's experience continues to be a great asset to the company. As CEO, he will help guide the company through a rapidly changing marketplace and build a successful, long-term future for US Spine." Mr. Mussey brings nearly 20 years of experience in orthopedics and spine, with considerable expertise in operations and management, having previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Interpore Cross International (Nasdaq: BONZ), where under his leadership the company grew sales from $30 million to $100 million. He also saw the company through acquisition by EBI, a subsidiary of Biomet (Nasdaq: BMET). Prior to that, Mr. Mussey served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cross Medical Products, Inc. from 1990-1998, where he diversified the company and grew sales from $.3 million in 1990 to $13 million in 1997. A graduate of the United States Navy Officer Candidate School, Mr. Mussey served in the United States Navy for four years, and holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from Harvard University. John T. Hunt - ControllerMr. Hunt's career includes greater than 16 years experience in corporate accounting. He has held the position of Corporate Controller and has worked for public traded and privately held companies in the Manufacturing, Telecommunication and Retail Industries. In addition, Mr. Hunt has been very active in the local community with service in the Knights of Columbus where he serves as a State Officer. Mr. Hunt received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from St. John's University in New York. Dave Lamb - Director of OperationsDave came to US Spine the day after Labor Day. Dave is responsible for purchasing, distribution, inventory, custom products, and any of our supply chain activities that relate to our mutual success. Dave is also currently responsible for Quality Assurance until we fill an open position for that role. The most important role that Dave has here at US Spine is making sure that our customers have the tools necessary to conduct our business effectively. Dave is also taking the lead for all custom requests for physicians and/or sales agents. Dave's entire career has been spent in the medical device, supplies, and equipment industry, having worked at InnoMed, MicroAire, Graphic Controls, Tyco Healthcare, Physician Sales and Service and most recently working for one of US Spine's competitors, Blackstone Medical. |
