Infineon and Hosiden Partner on Silicon Microphones
Infineon Technologies AG and Hosiden Corporation, one of the world's leading microphone manufacturers, announced their cooperation on silicon microphone work.The tiny microphones will provide high-end acoustics with better sound quality and offer digital interfaces to reduce interference. The silicon microphones will be more rugged and less sensitive to RF and shocks compared to classical ones.

Open SystemC's New Website
The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI), an independent non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advancing SystemC as an industry standard language for electronic system-level design, has launched a new website for the SystemC community. The easy to navigate site features fresh technical content, free downloads and links to the worldwide SystemC user groups. It furthers the organization's goal to make the worldwide SystemC community more vibrant, connected, and well informed.

Renesas and Quantum Team on Capacitive Touch
Renesas Technology Corp., a microcontroller (MCU) supplier, and Quantum Research Group (QRG), a supplier of capacitive touch sensing technology, are collaborating to develop innovative capacitive touch sensing solutions. MathWorks MATLAB New Release
MathWorks release 2007b includes Simulink 7, new features in MATLAB, two new products, and updates. Additionally there are bug fixes in 82 other products. Subscribers to MathWorks Software Maintenance Service can download R2007b product updates. R2007b introduces a major new feature: C code generation from Embedded MATLAB functions directly at the MATLAB command line, using Real-Time Workshop. In addition, Embedded MATLAB Function blocks in Simulink support algorithms in multiple M-files.

Wind River and Freescale Introduce Multicore Solution
Wind River Systems, Inc. and Freescale Semiconductor demonstrated their latest joint multicore solution for the Freescale MPC8572 Dual-Core Processor, at the first-ever Power Architecture Developer Conference in Austin, Texas. Wind River optimized the solution by tailoring its industry-leading VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS) specifically to support symmetric multiprocessing (SMP).
